We’ve been in your area

We’ve been carrying out speed monitoring in your area this week. Thank you to the members of the community we spoke to or waved on their way past.

From local drop-in events and completed surveys, it is clear there is an issue with speeding throughout Wolvey, which I have also observed myself at various times while in the area. 

I have spoken with colleagues from the Road Safety Team and arranged for high-visibility mobile speed checks to be carried out. these were conducted on Monday 26th January 2026. 

During the period of the checks, there were a number of positive interactions with members of the public. Two vehicles were stopped and drivers were given words of advice, while a further driver was issued with a Traffic Offence Report (TOR).
